I know you’re already stretched to the max. The old joke that preachers only work one day a week is old and worn. We all know it isn’t true. You are working hard every day. Think about all you do…

  • Counseling people.
  • Praying for people.
  • Carrying burdens.
  • Hospital calls.
  • Funerals.
  • Weddings.
  • Ultimate answer man/woman for life.
  • Saving marriages.
  • Healing families.
  • Writing sermons.
  • Preparing lessons.
  • Setting vision.
  • Making plans.
  • Serving the community.
  • …and lots more.

Your list is endless. Without adding burden, I want to remind you to lead yourself well physically. If you aren’t taking care of your body, that list is going to seem all the more daunting. You don’t have to spend 3 hours a day getting ripped. That’s not what this is about. But it is about taking care of yourself physically.

I fully believe that if you are going to go into battle, you had better be ready physically. This means going to the doctor when you’re sick. Quit playing the man card on this one. You could have much worse going on. This means going on a walk everyday and getting your heart rate up. This means going on a run. This means watching your diet. How do you expect to be fit for the work ahead when you’re slamming down Five Guys, Big Gulp sodas and candy bars all day. Your body is only going to revolt when you need it to react. Take care of yourself physically.

Do Work!

Time to do work, pastors!

Of the three apps I mentioned, which will you download and use?

What are you currently doing to stay physically fit?

Tell me what you’re up to! I’d love to hear from you.
